About

The gentleman.  The type of man who shakes you with repulsion out of jealousy, or stirs you with attraction out of authenticity.  He’s the man who genuinely and masterfully embodies civility, confidence, decorum, honor, and intelligence.  It’s no matter if he’s not vogue, because his charm and moxie make him such.  He’s his own man, and yet every gentleman.  It’s as if his style is effortless and mysterious, and his principles inclusive and universal.

He’s the balanced, dynamic, magnetic type you feel compelled with which to talk.  He holds and values convictions, but humbly admits he doesn’t have all the answers and isn’t always right.  He’ll tell you that becoming a gentleman isn’t about status, or even a state that is achieved.  Rather, it’s something he pursues with passion, persistence and positivity.  Encouragingly and inspiringly, he’ll tell you that becoming a gentleman is a journey.

Lacking pretense, he’ll share that he respectfully subscribes to the Gentleman’s Code, but can’t tell you where to find it.  He’ll tell you it’s something taught to him by his father and grandfather, taught by forefathers.  He’ll mention that becoming a gentleman is about having a graceful and loving attitude, good and discerning thoughts, right and just behavior.  It’s about wishing for the prosperity of others, enriching their lives by doing what you enjoy and do best, and living with purpose.

…which leads to wondering.  What happened to the Gentleman’s Code?  Does it belong to nostalgia or bygone era?  Is it timeless and just in hibernation?  How would the revised 21st Century edition read?  What if it were edited and disseminated via social media?  If Gutenberg’s Printing Press was the catalyst for revolution, reform and renaissance, why can’t its modern day equivalent - the Internet - do the same for the Gentleman’s Code?  After all, they’ve both enabled the mass circulation of ideas and information, leading to historic social change.

And so begets our purpose here, which is to collectively help the 21st Century man along on his quest of Becoming a Gentleman
